Writing
You need some funny dialogue, some great original gags, and that special something that lifts your project way above even your own high expectations.
You’re also looking for someone who works ludicrously fast, who can produce that great one liner before you can say Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch – all right not as quick as “Jack Rabbit” but quick enough.
You want someone who’s confident writing in radio, theatre, TV, film or corporate (who can turn even the dullest health and safety brief into something that not only does the job but is funny!)
"I knew I thought The Mummy was funny but even I didn’t realise just how funny it was until we got the script on its feet and it was a joy to have the whole of The Arts theatre rocking with laughter at the insanity of it all. Now with producers The Booking Office on board, we look forward to a first step full production in 2013." Director, Joe Harmston
His comedy horror, The Mummy, was produced in the spring/summer of 2014 at the Belgrade Theatre, while his co-written farce (with Mark Stevenson), Octopus Soup tours in the spring of 2019. The Mummy has also appeared in Finland as Muumio and more recently in Argentina as La Momia. Jack's latest farce, the surreal One Man, Two Llamas, has a rehearsed reding at Theatr Clwyd in May 2017 - director Mark Bell.
He is the founder of the London Comedy Writer's Group which has spawned a number of Britain’s top new comedy writers. As a writer he has worked on numerous TV and radio sketch and has also had plays produced at the Finborough, The Arts Theatre, Soho Theatre, Edinburgh Festival and Old Red Lion, as well as having sold sit coms to Radio 4.
As facilitator and speaker, he works internationally with organisations including: Google, Microsoft, Virgin Media and Cisco, transferring skills from the world of comedy across to business, helping make the dry and technical engaging, fun and above all not boring.
More randomly Jack was probably the first Westerner to visit the Soviet secret city of Severodvinsk (and certainly the first to take pics of nuclear subs and return in one piece), created a comedy show from scratch live on GMTV and then had it heckled by Nick Owen and the singer Joe Brown; and once headlined as an animal impressionist at a Keralan Rock and Roll concert in Calicut.
